Staple care instructions and Tips:

-
Keep your ears clean.
-
Always wash your hands before cleaning your ears. Good hand-washing prevent infection! Try not to touch your staple, especially during the first few weeks while it's healing. This may cause them to embed or become loose and ineffective.
-
Apply triple antibiotic ointment for the first 24 hours.
-
Clean the staple with your ear piercing solution provided, twice a day for six weeks.
-
The staples may be sore for a few days. You may take Advil and or Tylenol if needed.
-
If the ear is sore to the touch, apply a warm wet hot pack for 20 minutes several times a day. This promotes healing and circulation. You can also use tea tree oil for external inflammation. If you have problems call us! We are here to help you, and you are making an investment in your health. We are familiar with different issues that may arise, so call and talk with a member of our staff if you have concerns.
-
Do not do any hair coloring, swimming, or get your ears near any chemicals, or bacteria within the first two weeks, as this can cause infection.
-
Remember to massage your stimulation point, where your pulse is, as instructed. This releases endorphins into your body that are the key to success! Do this 15 to 20 times a day, using a circular motion for 30 seconds throughout the day. Think of this as all day maintenance, so the Staples can do everything you want them to do for you. Also... Before you eat /drink anything with calories, stimulate for 2 minutes.
IF YOU DON’T STIMULATE, THE STAPLES WILL NOT WORK! IT IS A MUST!
-
You are provided with a remover, and instructed on how to use it. If you have any questions, please call our office. Make sure the remover is centered under the Staple. That is the key to a simple, pain free removal. After the staples are removed, continue to clean your ears twice a day with the solution, and start back with Neosporin twice a day, until the area is not tender. You are ready for a new set after that. Average time to wait is 4 to 6 days. Call into our office as soon as you remove them to schedule an appointment for your area.
There is no guarantee of weight loss, smoking cessation or headaches mitigation. As with any program it works for some people and not for others. Not everyone will see the same kind of results.
The Staples last an average of 2 to 3 months. The time frames are different for everyone. When the Staples have loosened and lost their effectiveness you will need to have them removed. If there are keloids or bumps or irritation it may take longer to heal. We can advise you on that. Please go to the contact page and send a message with any questions, and to schedule your next set.
